Established in 2010 and based in Muswellbrook, Upper Hunter Group Training (UHGT) is HVTC’s Newest Division providing group training services in the Upper Hunter region of NSW. UHGT has been in the Muswellbrook area for several years under the name Hunter-V-Tec. UHGT is the region’s leading Group Training Company with a core business of selection, induction and employment of apprentices and trainees, and their placement with selected Host Employers.
UHGT offers full administration and manages the employment of the apprentice/trainee and focuses its resources on the performance management of the apprentice/trainee.
Apprenticeships offered by UHGT cover all trade areas and a range of traineeships to suit any industry, organisation or business. Apprenticeships in the Upper Hunter cover the mining industry, engineering manufacturing and fabrication, automotive and electrical to name a few. Traineeships covering trade areas, business and warehousing are offered frequently, but all areas of industry traineeships are covered by UHGT's services.
UHGT has a strong history of association with the Upper Hunter community. For several years it has been the provider of quality apprentices and trainees to the mining industry, and took part in the Mining Skills Program that allowed young people to gain an introduction into the mining organisation in the mechanical and electrical trades. UHGT, like many of the Divisions of HVTC, has nurtured high-achieving trainees and apprentices and completed innovative training programs.
